Kansas State Hands Flashes Their Second Road Loss

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein ran for 139 yards, two touchdowns and threw for one as the Wildcats upended Kent State 37-0 Saturday night at Bill Snyder Stadium. The Golden Flashes broke a stadium record with 136 yards in penalties.
On the Flashes' second offensive play, David Garrett picked off a pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown. A pair of 15-yard personal foul penalties contributed to the Wildcats' second scoring drive of the first quarter, making it a 14-0 lead.
Penalties continued to plague the Flashes in the second quarter as Kansas State extended its lead to 34-0 at the break with the help of 91 yards in Kent State penalties and two interceptions. Klein had 114 yards rushing and 70 yards passing at halftime.
The Kent State offense took a fourth quarter drive down to the Wildcat one yard line, but could not get on the board.

• Freshman Trayion Durham ran for a career-high 72 yards. It was also the highest total by a Kent State running back this year.
• Sophomore Roosevelt Nix recorded his second sack of the season and 12th of his career
• Sophomore Phil Huff made his first career start at left guard.
• Junior C.J. Malauulu has made 13 tackles in his last two games.
• Freshman Anthony Meray ran for a career-high 45 yards.
• Senior Justin Thompson had career-highs of five catches and 35 receiving yards.
• Redshirt freshman Casey Pierce made his first career reception.
