Women's Golf Can't Move Up At Lady Gator Invite

Flashes start final round at 8:30 a.m. Sunday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Kent State women's golf team could not gain ground on the field in the second round of the Lady Gator Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Entering the day tied for 16th place, Kent State combined for a 26-over 306, trimming just three strokes from yesterday's score.
The tournament field features 13 of the nation's top 50 programs.
Senior Mercedes Germino (Necochea, Argentina) once again turned in the top score for Kent State, shooting a four-over 74 to move up to a tie for 37th place overall.
Freshman Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta) also moved up the leaderboard on Saturday, as her five-over 75 lifted her into a tie for 44th place.
Sophomore Erin Hawe (Walton, New Zealand) erased a pair of shots from her second round, turning in a seven-over 77 thanks to a leadoff birdie on the par-4 No. 3. Hawe is tied for 68th overall, up 11 spots from yesterday.
Senior Shamira Marshall (Macedonia, Ohio), playing as an unattached individual, improved her score from the first round by three strokes with a seven-over 77 to move up to a tie for 73rd.
Senior Mandi Morrow (Kent, Ohio) was unable to carry the momentum she had from her back nine from Friday, as she scored an 80 in her second round. Junior Jackie Yanch (Barrie, Ontario) rounded out Kent State's team effort with an 85.
Host Florida jumped up to a tie for first overall with a three-over 283 team score to knot up Alabama. South Florida's Christina Miller has a two-shot lead on the field after a three-under 67 Saturday to go four-under par through two rounds.
The Golden Flashes will begin Sunday's final round at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Kent State will start from the 15-18 holes.
