Robbins Earns Weekly Accolades from MAC

Kent State freshman javelin thrower named co MAC Field Athlete of the Week
KENT, Ohio - Robert Robbins, a freshman javelin thrower on the Kent State outdoor track and field team, was named the Mid-American Conference's co-field athlete of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday. The award is the first for Robbins in his short collegiate career.
Robbins continued his exemplary start to his collegiate career, as the LeRaysville, Pa. native won the javelin throw at the Duke Invitational April 6 in Durham, N.C. Robbins threw a MAC-best 220-02.00 (67.11m) to win the event, his second event title of his career. Robbins now ranks sixth in Kent State history and he currently ranks 33rd in the nation in the javelin after his throw at Duke.
Robbins and Kent State will be back in action this weekend at the Northeast Ohio Quad April 13-14 at the University of Akron.
