Track and Field Competes at Ashland Invite

Kent State's track and field team, including men's throwers and the men's and women's pole vaulters, were among the competitors at the Ashland University Alumni Open April 27-28 in Ashland, Ohio.
Miles Dunlap captured the men's 200-meter title with a time of 22.08 in his first running of the race this season.
Also taking home first-place honors was Domenica Rossi, who was the top performer in the women's pole vault. Rossi cleared 12-08.25 for her best effort of the season.
Kent State's throwers had a solid showing on the weekend, led by a second-place finish by Bo Crabtree in the men's hammer throw. Crabtree had a distance of 187-04 (57.10m), which was one centimeter from first place.
Men's throwers Randy Rue and Marcus Vicars competed in multiple throwing events on the weekend. Rue's best finish was an eighth-place showing in the shot put (53-02.25), while Vicars took sixth in the discus (150-02).
Katelyn Jacobson took second place in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing the course in 12:41.05.
Kyle Tywon took second in the men's 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.11 seconds. He also tied for 12th in the pole vault on the weekend.
Also in the men's pole vault, Derek Hopkins was second with a height of 15-07.00, while Elliott Tedquist tied for eighth place.
Lynnese Beyan was third in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.76, while Danielle Dougherty was fourth in the women's 800-meter run, finishing in 2:17.25.
