Crabtree wins hammer, Hopkins takes second in pole vault
DURHAM, N.C. – Kent State outdoor track and field wrapped up the two-day Duke Invitational Saturday, hosted by Duke at Wallace Wade Stadium.
Sophomore Bo Crabtree was Kent State's lone winner on Saturday at the Duke Invite, which featured many elite teams in the country. Crabtree threw for 190-09.75 in the hammer throw to take the title, while teammate Matthias Tayala took third with a distance of 188-07.
Tayala was third in the men's discus as Kent State's top finisher with a mark of 167-04. Teammates Randy Rue and Aaron Crabtree placed ninth and 12th, respectively.
Derek Hopkins had a strong showing, as he placed second overall in the pole vault with a height of 16-04.75.
For the women, Joh'vonnie Mosley finished fourth in the discus with a distance of 158-07, while Lauren Noe took fifth place with her throw of 149-07.
Noe also took sixth in the hammer throw, measuring at 161-11.
