Recent Kent State graduate and former linebacker Kyle Reese (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) was one of nine football players awarded with a postgraduate scholarship at the Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation's 24th Annual Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet on May 8, at LaCentre Banquet Facilty in Westlake.
Nominations can come from 13 football schools in Northeast Ohio and require graduating seniors to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.Â
Reese, who graduated this month, is currently training to take a Navy SEALs test and hopes to eventually attend law school. Originally a walk-on at Kent State, Reese became a regular on special teams by his sophomore year and earned a starting spot at linebacker as a senior.
