Germino Continues to Reap Academic Accolades with MAC Honor

Kent State women's golf standout tabbed to Academic All-MAC squad for third time
KENT, Ohio – Mercedes Germino, a senior on the Kent State women's golf team, was honored today as a member of the 10-person Academic All-MAC squad, the Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday (May 30).
This year's honor marks the third for Germino, who is one of eight Kent State golfers to be named an Academic All-MAC performer three times.
Germino, an organizational communication major with a double minor in international business and marketing, compiled a 3.92 grade-point average as a student-athlete at Kent State. In competition, Germino was named the 2012 Mid-American Conference's Golfer of the Year and finished her senior season with a 74.27 stroke average, which is first all-time in program records.
Earlier this month, Germino was also recognized for her academic achievement with her selection to the 2012 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team for District 5.
