Track and Field Preview: Kent State Heads to MACs This Weekend

Golden Flashes' women aiming for third-consecutive MAC title, while men are in hunt for first championship since 2004
KENT, Ohio – The Kent State outdoor track and field team will aim to bring home a pair of Mid-American Conference titles this weekend when the Golden Flashes compete at the 2012 MAC Outdoor Championships May 10-12 at Lyle Bennett Outdoor Track on the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
For the women, the Golden Flashes are aiming to claim their third consecutive MAC Outdoor title and complete a track sweep after capturing the 2012 MAC Indoor championship in March. The Kent State men are in search of their first MAC outdoor title since 2004 after finishing second last spring.
Action begins Thursday, May 10, when the men's javelin throw begins at 10 a.m. Friday is slated to begin at 11 a.m., while Saturday's action starts at 11 a.m. with women's high jump finals. The final event of the championship is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the men's 4x400-meter relay.
