Football Fan Fest Coming August 16

Come checkout the newly structured Indoor Tailgate Zone in the Field House
KENT, Ohio — Kent State fans will have their first opportunity to see the 2012 Golden Flashes football team – and check out the Indoor Tailgate Zone in the Field House – when the Department of Athletics hosts Fan Fest on Thursday (Aug. 16). The event is free and open to the public.
Beginning at 5 p.m., the Indoor Tailgate Zone will run for an hour in the Kent State Field House. Activities will include inflatables, food vendors and music as well as an opportunity to take pictures with Flash and Kent State cheerleaders.
The festivities will then move to Dix Stadium for an open practice and scrimmage, which is slated to begin at 6 p.m. Fans who wish to purchase season tickets will have the opportunity during the game to select their seats. At the conclusion of the scrimmage, there will be an autograph session on the field with Kent State players and coaches.
The Golden Flashes kick off the 2012 season on August 30, at home against Towson with a Postgame Fireworks presented by AMETEK & Fairmount Properties. New this season, the first 1000 fans into the Indoor Tailgate Zone will receive a great giveaway item at each home game.
