Freshmen Highlight Annual Fan Fest Scrimmage

Kent State fans had their first opportunity to see the 2012 football team on Thursday night as the Golden Flashes hosted their annual Fan Fest Scrimmage.
While the leadership of 19 seniors is excpected to carry the Golden Flashes this season it was the freshmen combo of quarterback Colin Reardon and tight end Brice Fackler that highlighted the 30-minute scrimmage.
Reardon (Poland, Ohio) connected with Fackler (Kenton, Ohio) for a 1-yard score to cap off the annual scrimmage. Earlier in the evening place kicker Freddy Cortez (Fort Meade, Fla.) started things off by hitting a 22-yard field goal on the first drive. Freshman C.J. Brathwaite (West Bloomfield, Mich.) had the longest run of the night at 20 yards.
Kent State fans also had their first opportunity to see the the Indoor Tailgate Zone in the Field House with inflatables, food vendors, music and pictures with Flash and Kent State cheerleaders.
After the game, fans received posters, while players and coaches signed autographs on the field.
