Women's Golf Stands 13th After First Day at SunTrust Gator Invitational

The Kent State women's golf team stands 13th after the opening day of play at the 15-team 2013 SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville. After 18 holes, the Golden Flashes carded 305 on the par 70, 6,074-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course. Oklahoma leads the field with a 285 card, followed by Alabama (286) and Florida (289).
Leading the way for Kent State is freshman Josee Doyon (St-Georges-de-Beauce, Quebec) who shot an opening round 73 to tie for 20th overall. Junior Erin Hawe (Walton, New Zealand) and sophomore Natalie Goodson (Hudson) each carded 77 for a share of 48th place. Sophomore Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta) is tied for 57th with her first round score of 78, while senior Jackie Yanch (Barrie, Ontario) is tied for 71st with 81.
