Women's Golf Completes Second-Round Play at SunTrust Gator Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Kent State University women's golf team moved down one spot into 14th place on Saturday during the second round of the SunTrust Gator invitational on the par-70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course. The Golden Flashes tacked on eight strokes off their score from the previous day, posting a 313 over the second 18 holes for a collective total of 58-over par 618.
Rookie Josee Doyon (St-Georges-de-Beauce, Quebec) shot an 80 for the Golden Flashes today to sit in 48th place. Sophomore Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta), junior Erin Hawe (Walton, New Zealand) and sophomore Natalie Goodson (Hudson, Ohio) aren't too far behind, and are all tied for 53rd place in the individual standings. Ha had a team-low 77, while both Hawe and Goodson carded a 78 with 36-hole scores of 15-over 155. Rounding out the scoring for the Golden Flashes is Jackie Yanch, who is in 73rd place with an 80 today.
Third-ranked Alabama (+19) owns a three-shot lead over No. 4 Oklahoma (+22) and the host school fifth-ranked Florida (+22) in the team standings, while No. 21 Oklahoma State (+25) and Virginia (+26) round out the top five. Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil (-3) finds herself atop the individual leaderboard after the second round, three strokes ahead of Portland Rosen (E) of Virginia.
