Kent State Finishes 15th at SunTrust Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Kent State women's golf team finished in 15th place at the 41st annual SunTrust Gator Invitational. The Golden Flashes shot a 26-over 306 on Sunday for a 54-hole score of 924 at the par-70, 6,002-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida.
Alabama held onto first place after firing a 6-over-par 286 to finish with a 25-over 865. Oklahoma was the sole second place finisher with a three-day total of a 28-over 868. Two strokes behind, Florida finished in third place after shooting an 8-over 288 in the final round. Oklahoma State and Virginia tied for fourth place. Both teams finished 37-over-par at 877.
Freshman Josee Doyon (St-George's-de-Beauce, Quebec) led Kent State by cutting seven strokes off her second round score to finish 3-over for 48th place, and sophomore Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta) went 6-over 76 to place 53rd.
Junior Erin Hawe (Walton, New Zealand) finished 61st after carding a 77 in the tournament finale, and sophomore Natalie Goodson (Hudson, Ohio) earned 70th. Senior Jackie Yanch (Barrie, Ontario) rounded out the scoring for the Golden Flashes, carding a 10-over 80 to finish 74th.
Kent State is back in action on March 25-26 at the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate in Stockbridge, Ga.
