Barnes Named the MAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore William Barnes was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Track athlete of the week, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Barnes competed in the Gladstein Invitational where he took second place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.93, a lifetime indoor personal best for the sophomore out of Columbus, Ohio.
Barnes' time of 7.93 is fourth best in Kent State records and is the second best time in the MAC and is 28th in the nation this season.
He also competed in the 200-meter dash where he took fifth place with a time of 22.32, which is 17th in the MAC.
The Golden Flashes track and field teams head to the Findlay Open Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 in Findlay, Ohio.
