ST. LOUIS, Mo. โ Behind a hat trick and an eight-point day from Hannah Faulkner, a native of nearby Edwardsville, Ill., Kent State took down St. Louis 8-0 on Sunday.
"It's great to get two wins on the road for our confidence and heading into a big conference game this weekend," Head Coach Kathleen Wiler said.ย "Our striker line was working hard today to produce."
The Golden Flashes' attack came fast and furious in the first half as they were able to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.ย Hannah Faulkner got the scoring started ten minutes into the game, sailing a shot over the goalkeeper after receiving the ball from Alexis Madeira.ย Julia Hofmann then made the most of the team's first corner opportunity by scoring to make it 2-0.

Shortly after the Billikens took a timeout, Alison Harmatz made it a 4-0 game.ย Madeira scored four minutes later off a rebound to make it a 5-0 Kent State advantage.
Faulkner then completed her first career hat trick with 23 minutes left in the match, taking the ball on the left side and again shooting it high over the goalkeeper for the tally.
"I really attacked and got shots on cage," Faulkner said of her performance.ย "It was really exciting that my whole family was there to see what I've been working on the past three years."ย
Elidh Thomson also made it a memorable game as she scored the first goal of her career on a breakaway at the 56-minute mark.ย The scoring continued three minutes later when Ines Delpech scored on a corner with assists by Faulkner and Alayna Harris to make the final score 8-0.
