Kent State Finishes 4th in Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. – Kent State solidified a strong Schooner Fall Classic showing with a final round of 281, 1-over par to finish the tournament in 4th place with a 2-over event total.
The three-round score of 842 is a new program record, breaking the previous mark set in April 2006 by five strokes.
No. 10 Mississippi State won the tournament at 22-under. The Golden Flashes were right behind runner up No. 1 Arkansas and No. 28 Texas A&M. Kent State beat No. 8 LSU, No. 20 UCF and No. 26 Florida, among other highly ranked programs.
Raksha Phadke had the highest individual finish in a tie for 9th place after shooting a final round of 1-over, 71 golf.
Wad Phaewchimplee had the best final day round of 1-under par to finish 3-over overall in a tie for 30th place. Taylor Kim also finished the event tied for 30th after an even par final score.
Jennifer Ha shot 1-over to finish in a tie for 36th place while Natalie Goodson matched her in a tie for 36th also shooting 1-over in the final round.
Kent State will try to continue to set new records when they return to action Oct. 17-19 at the Mercedes Benz Classic in Knoxville, Tennessee.
