
Phaewchimplee Wins Final Fall Event, Flashes Finish Fourth

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Wad Phaewchimplee posted impressive rounds of 5-under and 1-under in the final day of the Jim West Challenge to win the event by two strokes. She was the only individual to finish under par overall at 2-under.
Kent State improved during the 54-hole day two to place fourth at 36-over. The team shot a second round score of 291 and final round of 299. Texas A&M won the event at 22-over par.
Taylor Kim continued to play well to finish in a tie for 13th place at 9-over. Jennifer Ha also improved from day one, posting scores of 70 and 75 to tie for 16th at 10-over.
Raksha Phadke shot 23-over in the event to tie for 55th while Natalie Goodson came in 64th with a 29-over total.
Playing as an individual, Maddy Mullins finished 62nd at 27-over.
The Golden Flashes had 167 pars in the tournament, tying for the most in the field. Phaewchimplee led in par three and par four scoring while also leading with a total of 12 birdies.
The Jim West Challenge was the final event in the fall season for Kent State. The team will pick up play again in the spring at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 15-17.
