
Duffus and Erickson Highlight Fred Wilt Invitational Saturday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Ann Marie Duffus and Roseanne Erickson both took first place at the Fred Wilt Invitational Saturday as the Kent State indoor track and field team competed at Purdue University.
Duffus started off with a first place in the long jump with a mark of 6.02m (19' 9.00") and then followed that up with a first place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.32.
Audra Puckrin joined Duffus in the top five of the women's long jump with a jump of 5.45m (17' 10.75").
Roseanne Erickson saw herself finish first as she took the 200m dash with a time of 24.79 with teammate Olivia Hallstein coming across in fourth at 25.30.
The Golden Flashes saw top five performances in seven other events – Jackie Leppelmeier took second in the weight throw, 20.14m (66' 1.00"), which sits her third in Kent State indoor records and then took fourth in the shot put with a mark of 14.36m (47' 1.50"). Joh'Vonnie Mosley saw fourth in the weight throw (17.69m / 58' 0.50") and a third place finish in the shot put (15.47m / 50' 7,25"). Danniel Thomas took second in the shot put with a distance of 16.46m (54' 0.00"), third best in Kent State records.
Kent State took three, four, five in the women's pole vault as Morgan Estes took third (3.66m / 12' 0.00"), Becca Herte took fourth (3.66m / 12' 0.00") as Tori Meyer came in fifth with a mark of 3.51m (11' 6.25"). The marks from Estes and Herte are eighth in school history.
Taylor Farquhar took third in the 400m dash (57.05) as Erica Hutson took fourth with a time of 57.24. Katie Reiser came in fourth in the 60m dash as she ran a 7.70.
Hannah Fleck saw second place with a time of 2:11.14 in the 800m run with Kristen Bergmeyer taking third in the 600m run, 1:38.32.
The 4x400m relay team, comprised of Lynnese Beyan, Taylor Farquhar, Erica Hutson and Jorian Ordway, took third at the Fred Wilt Invitational with a time of 3:46.93.
The Golden Flashes return home next weekend, Saturday, February 22 to host the Kent State Tune Up, slated to start at 10 am, in the Kent State Field House.
