BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – In another back-and-forth game, Kent State (28-14, 12-5) could not find a final answer for Bowling Green (18-20, 9-8), losing 8-6 to force a rubber match in the final game on Sunday (Apr. 26).

Cody Koch got the scoring started with a solo shot to right field in the 2^nd before the Falcons scored two unearned in the bottom of the inning to take the lead.

Zarley Zalewski joined the homerun club in the 4^th, scoring Koch to give the Flashes a 3-2 advantage. They added two more on in the 5^th on a T.J. Sutton triple, scoring Justin Wagler and Koch who had singled and doubled in the inning.

Bowling Green grabbed the game with a big six-run 5^th inning to put the game away. The first four batters of the frame singled followed by two more singles and two errors later in the inning.

Kent State tried to make a comeback, scoring once more in the 7^th and putting two on in the 9^th, but they could not overcome the deficit.

Nick Jensen-Clagg suffered the loss as the starter, allowing ten hits, five earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Michael Clark threw three innings of relief with three hits, one walk and three strikeouts. John Fasola finished out the game retiring the only batter he saw on five pitches.

Koch continued with a big bat, going 3-for-4 with a double, homerun, three runs scored and two RBI. Sutton and Zalewski also had an extra-base hit and two RBI.
