Head Coach Greg Robertson has announced the 2014-15 Kent State women's golf schedule, which features both familiar and new challenges for the team.
The season will tee off the same as last year at the Minnesota Invitational (Sept. 15-16) where the Golden Flashes will look to repeat as champions. They then will play at the Schooner Fall Classic hosted by Oklahoma (Oct. 4-6) where they finished 7th in a field of 15 teams a year ago.
Two weeks later, the team will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, for the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate (Oct. 17-19) before closing out the fall season at the Jim West Challenge (Nov. 2-4) hosted by Texas State.
The spring season will begin with two familiar events, the Lady Puerto Rico Classic (Feb. 15-17) and the Gator Women's Invitational (Mar. 6-8). Kent State finished in 12th and 2nd place, respectively, in those same events last season.
They will then compete at the Briar's Creek Invitational (Mar. 23-24) hosted by the College of Charleston and the Rebel Intercollegiate (Apr. 3-5) hosted by Mississippi before finishing the regular season in the Lady Buckeye Classic at Ohio State (Apr. 18-19) where they tied for 2nd place a year ago.
The Golden Flashes will compete for their 17th-consecutive Mid-American Conference Championship in Lebanon, Ohio, April 24-26. A win will advance the team to NCAA Regionals May 7-9. The NCAA Championships will be held in Bradenton, Florida, May 22-27. Kent State missed advancing to the championships by one stroke in 2014.
