Barnes Advances to Saturday Finals at Armory Invite

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – William Barnes and Wayne Gordon participated at the 2015 Armory Track Invitational in New York City, New York on Friday, January 30th hosted at the New Balance Track & Field Center. Barnes advanced to the 60m hurdles finals that will be ran on Saturday at 4:38 pm.

Gordon started off the day for the two Kent State athletes in New York as he ran in the AT&T 60m dash preliminaries at 11:30 Friday morning. He finished third in the 11th and final heat of the 60m dash with a time of 6.98, but did not reach the semifinals that were held Friday afternoon.
Barnes ran in the 60m hurdles preliminaries Friday at 12:30 pm in heat 6 of 11. He ran a time of 7.91 and took first in his heat advancing to the semifinals that were at 1:45 pm Friday. Barnes took third in his semifinal race with a 7.83 but reached the finals on Saturday as the top two from each heat and the next two best times advanced to the finals.
"I am really pleased with Will's performance today" Kent State Track and Field Assistant Coach Michael Schober mentioned about William Barnes' races Friday afternoon. "He (Barnes) is getting faster each round and I am hoping tomorrow Will comes out and keeps moving forward for the finals."
William Barnes will run tomorrow, Saturday January 31st, in the 60m hurdles finals which will start at 4:38 pm in the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York City, N.Y.
