Big Weekend Awaits Kent State Field Hockey

Kent State (3-8, 2-1 MAC) will look to get back on a winning track with two games this weekend. Action will open up on Friday at Murphy-Mellis Field when Miami (9-6, 3-0 MAC) comes to town for a 1 p.m. conference matchup. The Golden Flashes will then travel to American (8-4) for a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.

Miami
• Kent State is 44-32-2 all-time against Miami
• Last season, the Golden Flashes took both meetings. They won on the road 2-1 in the regular season then beat the RedHawks 3-1 during the MAC tournament
• Kent State has won the last three meetings while the teams have won five games each in the last ten
• In MAC play, Miami is undefeated with a 2-1 win at Longwood, a 3-0 win over Missouri State and a 3-0 victory against Ball State

American

• The two teams first met in 2007 at a neutral site where the Eagles won 3-0

School Supply Drive
• The field hockey, soccer and volleyball teams are teaming up to hold a school supply drive throughout the 2015 fall season
• Fans are asked to bring items to the donation bins set out at all home games
• Items will then be given to local children in need
Busy Friday
• Fans who attend Friday's game will receive a voucher to be checked off at the 4 p.m. home soccer match and 7 p.m. volleyball game for the Golden Flashes
• Food and prizes will be given to those who attend all events and have their voucher redeemed at the marketing table located at the entrance to all three arenas
