Two Flashes Finish in Top Ten at Briar's Creek Invitational

Kent State finished at 32-over par to tie for 6th place at the 72-hole Briar's Creek Invitational. Wad Phaewchimplee was the 3rd-best player in the event, finishing at 2-under.
The Golden Flashes got better with each round, shooting 300 in the second and 295 in the final to end tied with Michigan State and No. 41 Coastal Carolina. No. 29 Florida won the event at 2-over for a two-stroke lead over second place finisher No. 38 Miami.
Phaewchimplee was 3-under in the final round to cap off a successful event. Josée Doyon also finished in the top ten playing as an individual, tying for 8th place at 2-over overall.
Jennifer Ha and Taylor Kim both tied for 41st place with 227 final scores. Natalie Goodson came in a tie for 52nd place while Raksha Phadke ended in 86th place.
Maddy Mullins also participated in the event as an individual. She shot 1-under in the final round to end in a tie for the 50th spot.
Kent State shot 166 total on the course's par threes, which was the third-best scoring in the field on the short holes. Phaewchimplee and Doyon were both towards the top of the rankings in par threes, scoring 2-under, and on par fours, scoring 1-over. Phaewchimplee had the second-most birdies throughout the event with 13 total. Ha was one of only six players to eagle a hole. She did it in the first round on a par five.
The Golden Flashes' season continues April 3-5 when they compete at the Rebel Intercollegiate in Oxford, Mississippi.
