Women's Golf Will Look to Climb the Leaderboard After First Round

GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – Kent State will look to rise in the ranking this weekend at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational after an opening round score of 14-over that has them in tied for 12th place, 19 strokes off the lead.
No. 11 Arizona leads the event at 15-over while No. 35 GRU Augusta's Eunice Yi is the individual leader at 1-under.
Raksha Phadke had the best start at 7-over par with a 77. Josée Doyon was close behind at 8-over while Wad Phaewchimplee was 9-over. Taylor Kim shot 10-over in the first round while Jennifer Ha rounded out Kent State's scoring with a 14-over day.
Doyon was tied for second-best in the opening round in par-three scoring coming in at even.
The second round of the event will be held Saturday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. Live scoring will still be available at golfstat.com.
