The College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday that Kent State's Josée Doyon has been selected as a 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District At-Large honoree for her efforts in the classroom and on the course.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have a key role on the field while maintaining a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have reached sophomore standing.
Doyon won three consecutive events this season, capped off by a victory at the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championship where she was also named MAC Golfer of the Year. Her 73.96 scoring average this season ranks as the 2nd best all-time at Kent State while her 2.33 scoring average versus par ranks 4th. Doyon has a culmulative 3.93 GPA while majoring in political science, including a perfect 4.0 this spring semester.
