EUGENE, Ore. – Kent State junior Danniel Thomas and senior Jackie Leppelmeier were in action for the Golden Flashes on the second day, Thursday, June 11th, of the 2015 NCAA National Track and Field Championships at Historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
Danniel Thomas and Jackie Leppelmeier both earn Second Team All-American status after their performances on Thursday.
Thomas took 11th in the shot put competition with a best mark of 16.53m (54' 2.75"). She opened her night up with a mark of 15.83m (51' 11.25") before throwing a second attempt mark of 16.32m (53' 6.5").
Leppelmeier finished in 14th in the hammer throw competition with a best mark of 59.25m (194' 4"). She began her day with a mark of 57.62m (189' 0") before fouling on her second attempt.
The Golden Flashes next athlete to compete is on Saturday, June 13th at 4:30pm EDT in Dior Delophont. Delophont competes in the high jump on the final day of the 2015 NCAA National Championships.
