YPSILANTI, Mich.- Kent State soccer played their second straight 110-minute match on Sunday, tying Eastern Michigan 0-0 from Scicluna Field. The Golden Flashes remain unbeaten in their last 12 matches and move to 10-1-2 (6-0-2 MAC) on the season while the Eagles move to 5-8-3 (2-4-1 MAC).
The Golden Flashes had several good looks at goal during the match, totaling six shots on goal but were unable to beat the Eastern Michigan keeper. Jenna Hellstrom led the Golden Flashes with six shots, three of which were on goal.
Ashleah McDonald played all 110 minutes in goal for the Golden Flashes making three saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season. McDonald is now 9-1-2 on the season and owns a 0.83 goals against average.
The Golden Flashes defense only allowed Eastern Michigan to get one shot on goal in the final 65 minutes of the match and have now only allowed six goals during Kent State's 12-match unbeaten streak.
Kent State had the advantage in shots (14-9), shots on goal (6-3) and corner kicks (4-2) but neither team was able to convert their chances in goals.
The Golden Flashes return home on Thursday at 4 p.m. as they face another tough MAC test in Miami. The match will be played at Dix Stadium.
