Kent State Tops Lock Haven 2-1

KENT, Ohio β Kent State (11-6) continued to improve its record this weekend as it took down Lock Haven (9-6) on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-1.
The Flashes struck first 24:06 into the game.Β After an initial corner play, Kortney Keller slid a pass over to Silvia Figa Malgosa who found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.Β In the second half, another corner opportunity set up a Flashes score.Β Laila Richter had a sweep from the top of the circle that Alexis Madeira perfectly executed a re-direction on for the goal.
The Bald Eagles broke the shutout with ten minutes to play as they hustled down the field and had a pass from the top of the corner to a player who found the bottom of the opposite corner for the tally.
The Kent State defense was great once again as Lock Haven only had seven total shots and just three shots on goal in the half.Β The Flashes finished with 19 shots.Β Krysti Lober led the team with six while Ines Delpech had five.Β
The regular season will conclude on Sunday, October 30 as the Flashes host St. Francis in a 1:00 p.m. game on Senior Day.Β The four Kent State senior players will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.
