Seniors Score Shutout Victory to end Regular Season

KENT, Ohio β Kent State's (12-6) four seniors led an effort to shutout Saint Francis (11-7) 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular season.
The team will enter postseason play with its best record since the 2010 season and will be the No. 1 seed to open the Mid-American Conference Tournament at home on November 4-5.
Senior Krysti Lober had the first goal of the game early on in the first half.Β Ines Delpech dribbled in from the left side, fired a shot at the edge of the circle, and Lober was there and ready to put the deflection away.
In the second half, fellow senior Alexis Madeira got in on the scoring.Β She passed a ball in from the left side for an assist as Shannon Talbot found the back of the net to make it a 2-0 game.
The final goal came again from Lober.Β Delpech began the attack as she drove down the left side of the field.Β She found Lober who broke into the circle and fired one into the back of the net for her second of the game.
Seniors Andrea Rinehart and Madison Thompson help the effort on the defensive end.Β Thompson and the Flashes held Saint Francis to just three shots while Rinehart recorded her fourth shutout of the season in net with two saves.
Kent State led in shots 13-3 while each team had just one corner opportunity.
The Flashes face No. 4 Ball State to start MAC Tournament play on Friday at 11:30 a.m.Β The winner will advance to the tournament finals on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
