For the third time in six appearances at quarterback, Kent State junior Nick Holley was named Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Holley rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against No. 14 Western Michigan. He has now rushed for over 140 yards four times in his last five games.
On a wet night at Dix Stadium, Holley also completed nine passes for 73 yards. In six games at quarterback, he has rushed for 916 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Since the award started in 1966, Holley and Josh Cribbs are the only two Golden Flashes to earn MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times in the same season.
During the first four weeks of the season, Holley caught 13 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns as a wide receiver.
Kent State visits MAC East rival Bowling Green Tuesday night on ESPNU. Kickoff at Doyt Perry Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
