Adams Named Player of the Week

Kent State true freshman punter Derek Adams (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) was named Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week Monday.

Last week at Bowling Green, Adams placed four of his punts inside the Falcon 20 yard line and still averaged 42.3 yards per punt.

Adams is tied for fifth in the nation for the most punts inside the 20 yard line with 27. Thirteen of those punts have come in the last four games.

The Golden Flashes have claimed the MAC special teams honor twice in the last three weeks beginning with kicker Shane Hynes on Oct. 31.

Kent State closes out its season Friday, Nov. 25, hosting Northern Illinois at Dix Stadium. The Senior Day kickoff is slated for noon.
