Flashes Travel to Wright State for Midweek Matchup

Kent State (4-4) will partake in its second true road game of the season as the team makes the trip to Wright State (4-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Matchup
• Kent State is 2-1 all-time against Wright State
• The teams met on November 17 last season in Kent with the Raiders winning 73-68
• The first meeting was in 1979 when the Flashes won 98-60 in Dayton. They won the following year 72-56 at home
• Wright State is coming off its only losses of the season as the team fell to Georgetown and Clemson at the San Juan Shootout in Daytona, Fla., last Thursday and Friday
• The Raiders are averaging 67.5 points and 42.2 rebounds per game
• Three players are averaging double digits in scoring this season, led by 17.8 by Chelsea Welch
• Symone Simmons leads the team in rebounding as she grabs an average of 9.2 a game
Lurken Lauded
• Larissa Lurken was honored before last Wednesday's home game for becoming the 20th 1,000 point scorer in Kent State history and for breaking the career three-point makes mark
• She accomplished both at the Gulf Coast Showcase where she also scored a career-high and tournament record 39 points in one game and broke the Flashes' made and attempted single-game free throw records
• Lurken was named to the All-Tournament Team and was also the MAC East Player of the Week for her accomplishments
• She currently leads the nation in free throws made and attempted and is 5th in the nation in points per game
Doubleheader on Deck
• The men's and women's teams will host a doubleheader at the M.A.C. Center this Saturday
• The women host Youngstown State at 5 p.m.
• The men's game will follow immediately after
