
Play 4Kay Game Set for This Saturday

Kent State's (4-17, 1-10) annual Play 4Kay game is scheduled for this Saturday at 2 p.m. when they host Ball State (16-6, 8-3) at the M.A.C. Center.

The Matchup
• Kent State is 36-18 all-time against Ball State
• The Golden Flashes fell 85-47 on the road last season
• They beat the Cardinals the previous season at home 60-57 in February 2014
• Ball State is averaging 70.8 points and 40.8 rebounds as a team so far this season
• Nathalie Fontaine is one of the top scorers in the conference as she averages 21.2 points per game
• She also leads the team with 10.0 rebounds per game
• The Cardinals' only MAC losses this season came in both meetings with Ohio and most recently against Central Michigan
Play 4Kay
• Play 4Kay is a national fundraiser across women's college basketball that helps raise funds for the Kay Yow Foundation and their aim to find a cure for breast cancer
• The first 500 fans through the door on Saturday will receive a free t-shirt
• Those in attendance are asked to wear pink for the event
Korinek Earns Academic Honor
• Jordan Korinek was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient this week
• The sophomore has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a special education major
• She currently leads the team in both scoring and rebounding
• Korinek is the first Golden Flash to receive the honor since 2012
• She will now be up for consideration for Academic All-America
If the Tournament Started Today…
• If the Mid-American Conference Tournament were to start, Ohio would be the overall No. 1 seed with a 10-1 record
• Central Michigan would be the No. 2 at 10-2
• Also receiving byes as the 3 and 4 seeds would be Ball State and Toledo (both 8-3)
• Kent State would be the 12 seed and travel to 5 seed Akron, who is 6-5 in conference
• The 6-8 seeds would be Western Michigan (6-6), Eastern Michigan (5-6) and Bowling Green (4-7)
• Buffalo, Miami and Northern Illinois would fill in the remaining 9-11 seeds. They are currently all 3-8 in conference play
• MAC play ends on March 5. The Golden Flashes have 7 regular season games remaining
