
Women’s T&F Shines on Final Day of Northeast Ohio Quad

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's women's track and field team shined on the final day of the Northeast Ohio Quad at the University of Akron on Saturday, April, 16.
Morgan Manuel captured one of Kent State's four victories of the day, taking first in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:43.70.
In the 1,500m run, Olivia Gaus secured the title with a time of 4:41.04, followed by Sarah Pack in fifth (4:54.97), and Brigid Callaghan in sixth (4:56.80).
The 4x400m relay team comprised of Tyler Williams, Jorian Ordway, Taylor Farquhar, and Olivia Gaus took fist place at 3:44.46. Williams and Ordway took the top two spots in the 200m dash, finishing with times of 55.79 and 56.43, respectively. Farquhar also took home a second place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.13.
Golden Flashes swept the top four spots in the discus with Jai'Lyn Mosley capturing first place at 50.05m (164' 2"), followed by Ada Nicholson-Burley (47.98m), Rebecca Leppelmeier (44.53m), and Victoria Ross (44.40m).
In the javelin, Anna Lombardo took second with a mark of 35.93m (117' 10"). In fourth place behind Lombardo was Dior Delophont at 35.74m (117' 3"), followed by Audra Puckrin in 6th at 33.09m (108' 7") and Alyssa Carlton in eighth at 30.78m (101' 0").
Delophont also competed in the high jump (1.73m) and long jump (5.55m), finishing second and fifth, respectively. Cayla Carey was the top finisher for the Flashes in long jump, taking third at 5.84m (19' 2"), while Lauren Pannell took third in the high jump at 1.73m (5' 8"). Carey also competed in the 200m dash, taking fourth place with a time of 25.17.
In the pole vault, Morgan Estes finshed in second with a mark of 4.17m (13' 8.25"), followed by Sam Tollerud in fifth at 3.87m (12' 8.25"). Lakia Kent-Allen took second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.31m (37' 1.25"), as Roseanne Erickson finished fifth at 11.29m (37' 0.5").
Taylor Wickey competed in the 800m taking third with a time of 2:14.34, followed closely by Olivia Davis in fourth at 2:14.63 and Kristen Bergmeyer in fifth at 2:16. 98. In the 3000m run, Jesse Slingluff took fifth place with a time of 11:03.95, while Robin Foster took seventh at 11:06.71.
In the 100m hurdles Arbria Williams captured with a time of 14.02, followed by Asoen Gaita in sixth (14.41) and Talia Falco in ninth at 15.02. Williams also competed in the 100m dash taking eighth with a time of 12.44, followed by Kayla Seymour in ninth at 12.49.
The Golden Flashes return to action next weekend, as Kent State heads to Ohio State for the Jesse Owens Classic.
