
Tollerud Breaks School Pole Vault Record on Final Day of Campbell-Wright Open

AKRON, Ohio – Kent State's Sam Tollerud broke the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.22m (13' 10") en route to a first place finish at the Campbell-Wright Open on Saturday, May 6.
Tollerud, a sophomore broke the previous record of 13' 9.25" set in 2005 by Jackie Rogers and is currently tied for the 23rd best mark in the nation.
Caroline Sauers secured the first of six victories on the day for the Golden Flashes, taking the 1,500m run title with a time of 4:39.41. Olivia Davis followed up Sauers in second place at 4:43.46.
With a personal-record (PR) time of 24.28, Tyler Williams captured the 200m dash title and moved into ninth all-time in Kent State history. Taking spots three through seven behind Williams was Roseanne Erickson (24.41), Jorian Ordway (24.56), Cayla Carey (24.89), Kayla Seymour (24.98), and Samantha Shaver (25.14).
The 4x100m relay team of Seymour, Arbria Williams, Shaver, and Carey took second with a time of 46.42. Erickson (11.78) and Ordway (11.88) added top-five finishes in the 100m dash, taking third and fifth, respectively.
In the 800m, Taylor Wickey ran 2:13.54 to take first place, followed by Sarah Pack in fourth (2:18.32), Kristen Bergmeyer in fifth (2:19.26) and Mallory Vetter in eighth (2:20.55).
Golden Flashes took the top three spots in the 3,000m run, with Jesse Slingluff taking first (10:55.74), Robin Foster taking second (10:58.16) and Madison Spreitzer taking third (11:07.58). In the 3,000m steeplechase, Morgan Manuel finished second with a time of 11:55.59.
Olivia Gaus captured second in the 400m dash with a time of 58.57, followed by Kayla Seymour in fourth at 59.52.
In the field, Anna Lombardo took first in the javelin with a heave of 40.99m (134' 6"), followed by Maya Brown in second (39.21m | 128' 8"), Audra Puckrin in fourth (32.91m |108' 0") and Chelsea Laury in fifth (31.75m | 104' 2").
Lauren Pannell finished second in the high jump with a personal-record mark of 1.75m (5' 8.75"), which puts her tied for fifth in school history. Dior Delophont collected a fourth place finish in the high jump at 1.70m (5' 7") and fifth place finish in the long jump at 5.61m (18' 5").
Jai'Lyn Mosley was the top finisher in the discus for the Golden Flashes, coming in at 48.76m (160' 0"), good enough for a second place finish. Ada Nicholson-Burley was right behind Mosley in third place at 48.32m (158' 6"), followed by Victoria Ross in fourth (47.70m | 156' 6") and Rebecca Leppelmeier in sixth (46.53m | 152' 8").
In the triple jump Lakia Kent-Allen captured third place with a jump of 11.77m (38' 7.5").
Danniel Thomas competed as an unattached athlete, securing victories in the discus (57.93m | 190' 1") and shot put (17.60m | 57' 9").
