Waugh Earns Spot on Hendricks Award Watch List

Kent State is now represented on four preseason watch lists, as Terence Waugh (Atlanta, Ga.) was recently named to the Ted Hendricks Award Preseason Watch List. Entering his senior year, Waugh is one of 28 FBS players on the initial list.
The defensive end of the year distinction is named in honor of college football's first three-time first team All-American. This year's list marks Waugh's second straight appearance among the nation's best defensive ends.
Despite missing two games in 2015, Waugh finished third in the Mid-American Conference in sacks (9.0) and eighth in tackles for loss (12.0). He was an All-MAC First Team selection.
Other Golden Flashes on preseason watch lists include safety Nate Holley (Bednarik Award), cornerback Demetrius Monday (Thorpe Award) and linebacker Nick Cuthbert (Wuerffel Trophy).
The 2016 Ted Hendricks Award winner will be announced Dec. 7.
The Flashes open up the 2016 regular season at Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 3. Kent State then hosts North Carolina A&T State on Sept. 10. Season tickets, Family Season 4-Packs, 3-Game Mini Plans and single-game tickets are all on sale now.
