KENT, Ohio – The Kent State University field hockey team has announced its Oct. 28 game against Ohio as its awareness game in support of the Integral Center of Exceptional Kids (CIANE) in Tandil, Argentina.

CIANE is a group working in the final stages for construction of an all-purpose headquarters for treatment and rehabilitation for children in Tandil. It is of great importance to the Kent State field hockey family and directly impacts the hometown of senior Ines Delpech. The fundraiser is in honor of her brother Jero, who passed away in 2015.
"This means a lot to my family, in a way it brought us together and keeps his memory alive," said Delpech. "Something that I admire is the hard work from the parents and families because they started from scratch. They are building this amazing facility that is going to impact 100 of thousands of lives."
CIANE was created by a group of parents of children with different disabilities in 2006, who initially met periodically in order to work through common challenges. The group is dedicated to the education, evaluation and treatment of babies, kids and young adults with neuro locomotor disabilities.
It is a project unique and necessary for the city of Tandil and its surroundings, since no center like this exist within a four hour radius, with the closest facility located in Buenos Aries. Over time, the organization grew, leading to the current construction of a centralized headquarters.
The donation link above will be active through the remainder of the field hockey season, with a halftime presentation scheduled during the Oct. 28 senior day game.
