OXFORD, Ohio โ The Kent State volleyball team fell at Miami, 3-0 (24-26, 23-25, 16-25 ), Friday night at Millett Hall.
The Golden Flashes (5-19, 3-10 MAC) were able to keep up with the RedHawks in the first two set behind a defense that limited the hosts to a .144 hitting percentage. However, Miami was able to find its offensive rhythm in the third and posted a .323ย mark to complete the sweep.
Senior Kelsey Bittinger led Kent State with nine kills and 15 digs, as she moved ahead of Hannah Herc (2010-13) for fourth on the school's career digs list.
Sophomore Myla King added six kills and had a team-high four blocks.
Freshman Natalie Tagala handed out 24 assists and added eight digs.
Senior Challen Geraghty and sophomore Claire Tulisiak both contributed double-digit digs with 14 and 10, respectively.
Kent State heads to Bowling Green on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
