NORMAN, Okla. – Kent State University golfer Ian Holt picked up another honor Thursday when he was named a PING All-America Honorable Mention.
The honor comes one week after GolfWeek named Holt an All-American, making the junior a consensus selection. He finished his record setting year with multiple honors, including the 2017 MAC Player of the Year award.
Holt was one of only five players in the nation to reach 160 birdies, while his total of seven eagles is a program record. His scoring average of 71.54 was just short of Jon Mills and Ben Curtis for the program record. His average score of 4.605 on Par-5's is a new program best.
With one year of eligibility, he will return alongside 2016 MAC Golfer of the Year Chase Johnson, anchoring a star-studded senior class in the lineup. For more information as the fall season approaches, check back with KentStateSports.com.
