Midweek MACtion for Kent State begins Tuesday night, Oct. 30 at Bowling Green's Doyt Perry Stadium on ESPNU. The Golden Flashes continue their stretch of five straight East Division opponents at a place where its head coach and coordinators first tasted success in the MAC just four years ago. After playing on eight straight Saturdays, both teams will have three extra days of preparation.
Facts In A Flash
• Kent State has suffered a pair of one-point losses in MAC play, including a 24-23 overtime heartbreaker against its archrival Akron.
• The Flashes played turnover free football against the Zips and had their second lowest penalty total (6) of the season.
• Junior Justin Rankin ran for a touchdown and caught a TD pass against Akron. He ranks 41st in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (116.0).

All-Time Series
Bowling Green leads the all-time series with Kent State 60-19-6 in a matchup that dates back to the Flashes' inaugural season of 1920. BGSU has won each of the last five meetings on the way to three MAC East titles (2013-15). The Falcons earned a 42-7 win the last time the teams met at Doyt Perry Stadium in 2016. Last year in Kent, the Falcons claimed a 34-16 victory. Justin Rankin caught nine passes and Jim Jones had 11 tackles and 2.0 sacks.

Tuesday's game game can be seen on ESPNU with Kevin Brown (play-by-play) and Rocky Boiman (analyst). The game can be heard live on 640 AM WHLO and the free Golden Flashes Radio channel on iHeartRadio with a one-hour pregame show. Ty Linder handles the play-by-play duties and is joined by 10th-year color analyst Rob Polinsky. Jacob Pavilack will be on the sideline. By 2017, iHeartRadio reached over 100 million registered users.
BGSU-KSU Connections
• Both universities were founded in 1910. From 1985 (75th anniversary) through the 1990s, the rivals played for a traveling trophy called the Anniversary Award, which went missing. The trophy was found in the 2017 with the help of an anonymous tip on Twitter and went to the Falcons, following last year's contest .
• Carol Cartwright served as president at both institutions.
• Head Coach Sean Lewis, Defensive Coordinator Tom Kaufman, Offensive Coordinator Andrew Sowder and Sports Performance Coach Jeff Sobol were all members of Bowling Green's staff during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Offensive Graduate Assistant Matt Johnson was the 2015 MAC Player of the Year as a senior quarterback at Bowling Green and Defensive Graduate Assistant Dan Conwell was a student manager for four seasons with the Falcons.
