Bookman, Dunlap Lead Flashes at MAC Championships
The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2018 Mid-American Conference championships Saturday morning in Toledo, Ohio.
The men were led by Clark Bookman who finished just outside the top 10 in 11th place at 24:53.5 and helped the Flashes to an eighth place team finish for the second consecutive year. He improved five spots from last year. Freshman Alex Stamper finished in 23rd place with a time of 25:27.2 to earn his third top-25 finish of the year.
Justin McKeal claimed a top-50 spot, finishing in 49th place at 25:58.6. Kevin Jones, Brandon Avers and Joshua Allen all placed in the top 60, finishing 55th, 56th and 57th, respectively.
Maddie Dunlap paced the women with a 28th place finish with a time of 22:07.8 to help earn a 10th place team finish, improving two spots from last season. Leah Lisle secured her third top-50 finish of the season, finishing in 41st place at 22:25.2.
Jaimie Adams finished in 50th place with a time of 22:35.8. Samantha Hyme and Nicole Fleming each grabbed top-70 finishes, claiming 61st and 63rd place, respectively.
