Reese’s MVP Performance Leads Men to Runner-Up Finish at MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Kent State men's track and field team had several big performances on Saturday to finish second at the 2018 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Golden Flashes posted 102 of their 128 points on the final day of competition to post their highest score and best finish since 2014.
Redshirt senior Riak Reese earned Most Valuable Performer and Most Outstanding Track Performer honors for the meet. Reese swept the sprints to remain unbeaten in event finals this season. His day started with a victory in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.73. Reese returned to the track just 40 minutes later and clocked a 21.27 to win the 200-meter dash.
"This was my first MAC Championships meet since my freshman year when I had to leave school, so it felt great to get back into get those two wins and help the team out," said Reese. "It was an honor to get the MVP, and this was really a special moment."
