Finn Named MAC Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Kent State senior Michaela Finn was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Thursday Following her standout performance at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship on Monday and Tuesday.
Finn helped the Golden Flashes secure their second-straight tournament win of the 2018-19 season at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship with a finish tied for fifth at 1-over par 214 score.
With the help from Finn, the Flashes were able to cut 19 strokes from their round one score. The team moved up eight spots in the second round while Finn leaped 21 positions. In the opening round, Finn shot a 4-over par 75 score with three birdies. The senior had a remarkable second-round performance shooting a 2-under par score. Finn went 16 holes for par or better with a flawless back-nine holes of bogey-free golf. In the final round, she finished with a 1-under par score with the help of three birdies, bringing her tournament total to 10.
On the season, Finn carries a 71.50 average. Her last four rounds have been for par or better and three-of-which are under par.
The Flashes return to action Oct. 8-9 in the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah in Illinois.
