Kats Tabbed MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State junior Vital Kats has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career, the conference office announced Tuesday (October 22). Kats posted a three-goal weekend and has scored a point in every MAC match of the season. She was honored along with Toledo's Anita Mancini.
Kats scored all three of KSU's goals for the weekend and netted two against Eastern Michigan in a 3-2 overtime setback. On Sunday, she earned the equalizer in the 30th minute of the Golden Flashes 1-1 draw against Central Michigan.
The Toronto, Ontario native has scored 22 career goals, which is tied for sixth with Donavan Capehart (2014-17) for the sixth most in school history. Her 18 assists are tied for the fourth most in program history with Megan Repas (2009-12). She has registered 62 points in her career which is tied with Jaclyn Dutton (2011-13) for the sixth most in the school record book.
The Golden Flashes hit the road for their final road swing of the regular season this week when they play at Ball State on Thursday, October 24th at 3:30 p.m. The weekend wraps up at Miami on Sunday, October 27th at 1 p.m.
