KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University field hockey team (10-8, 5-1 MAC) dropped its season finale with a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Longwood on senior day at Murphy-Mellis Field.
The Flashes were slightly edged in shots 11-12. Senior Laila Richter paced Kent State with four shots.
The Flashes got on the board first when Richter found the back of the net for the third time this season off a penalty corner. Junior Ashley Bonetz and junior Clara Rodriguez Seto were both on the assist that put Kent State up 1-0 in the second period.
