Track and Field Concludes Indoor Regular Season at Kent State Tune Up

KENT, Ohio –The Kent State track and field program wrapped up the indoor regular season with the Kent State Tune Up on Saturday at the Kent State Field House.
The Golden Flashes recorded 16 top-5 finishes on the day, with Jaimie Adams being the only winner on the women's team in the 5,000-meter with a career-best time of 17:53.45.
On the track, Kamya Lapsley finished second in the 800-meter with a time of 2:18.93, while Benja Duff picked up a second-place finish on the track in the 60-meter hurdles, recording a time of 8.95. Maria Horrigan tied for second in the pole vault, reaching 12'-07.50" and Ally Thompson followed in fourth in the pole vault with a judge's mark of the same height. In the shot put, Grace Tennant finished second with a mark of 49'-10.50" and Gabby Bailey came in third (49'-03.75").
Angelique Wong finished in third place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.40. Gana Lopez grabbed fourth place in the 60-meter, running a time of 7.81, while Angela Ruffin tied for fourth in the high jump, reaching 5'-02.25." Madison Dunlap added a fouth-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:08.10.
On the men's side, Christian Champen grabbed second place in the pole vault, reaching 16'-07.25," while Mitchell Kubicki followed in fourth with a career-best mark (16'-01.25"). Sam Michael came in third in the 5,000-meter with a time of 15:40.26.
In the weight throw, Jake Wickey reached a mark of 65'-05.00" to finish in third. Dairius Ragland ran a time of 8.35 in the 60-meter hurdles for a fifth-place finish.
The Flashes will host the 2019 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 22-23 at the Kent State Field House.
