
Flashes Finish in Top Two of UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla.- The Kent State University women's golf team finished tied for second place with a tournament total of 15-under par 849 (281-288-280) at the UCF Challenge on Tuesday afternoon. This is the Flashes' fifth-straight top-2 finish of the season.
Junior Karoline Stormo's second-place finish paced the Flashes with her three-round total of 10-under par 206 score (68-71-67). Stormo shot the team's lowest score in the final round as she only had one bogey on the day. The junior shot six birdies on the day, bringing her tournament total to 15.
Freshman Thitapa Pakdeesettakul golfed a consistent tournament as she finished tied for 15th with a 3-under 213 score. The freshman mirrored her first two scores after carding a 1-under 71 in the final round. She went 16 holes for par or better and birdied three times.
Junior Pimnipa Panthong carded a 1-over final round score that brought her tournament total to even-par 216 (70-73-73). Senior Michaela Finn shot her best round of the tournament today. She carded a 1-under 71 score and finished tied for 33rd with a 1-over tournament score. Finn finished the day with four birdies.
Rounding out the lineup was sophomore Chloe Salort, who significantly improved in her final round. Salort shot a 71 score in the final round as she finished tied for 49th with a 3-over par 219 score (75-73-71).
Sophomore Kory Nielsen finished atop the golfers who competed as individuals, tied for 24th. Nielsen shot a three-round score of 1-under 215 for the tournament after she shot an even-par final round.
Kent State will return to the course on Sunday, Feb. 10 as the Flashes compete in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, P.R.
