
Flashes Win Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Kent State University women's golf team won its fifth tournament of the season as they took home the championship at the Lady Buckeye Invitational.
The Flashes shot a 16-over par 880 (293-291-296). Michigan State was one shot behind the Flashes at 17-over 881 for second, while Maryland finished third at 26-over.
Pimnipa Panthong led the way for the Flashes and wound up finishing the tournament tied for fourth place at 3-over par 219 (72-73-74). Karoline Stormo finished eighth at 5-over 221 for the tournament. Stormo fired a 3-over 75 for the final round.
Michaela Finn finished one-stroke behind Stormo as she finished tied for ninth at 6-over 222. Finn shot her best round of the tournament in the final round and fired a 1-under 71.
Kory Nielsen finished tied for 13th with an 8-over 226 score through three rounds. Nielsen finished the third round with a 4-over 76 score. Chloe Salort was 10-over par 226 (72-76-78), tied for 19th.
Closing out the Flashes lineup was Thitapa Pakdeesettakul who carded a 79 score in the final round. Pakdeesettakul finished tied for 23rd at 11-over 227.
The Lady Buckeye Invitational finished the regular season for the Flashes. The team moves on to the 2019 MAC Championship April 19-21 as the Flashes compete for their 21st-straight MAC Women's Golf Championship.
