
Flashes Finish 11th at Robert Kepler

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Kent State University men's golf team jumped three spots up the leaderboard for the final round and finished 11th overall at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Kent State finished at 39-over 607 (315-292).
The Flashes drastically improved play in the final round on Saturday as Chris Doody paced Kent State with his even-par score. He improved his score by 11-strokes and finished the day with three birdies. Doody's 36 hole total was an 11-over 153 score and tied for 48th.
Gisli Sveinbergsson finished the tournament tied for 30th at 7-over 149. He completed the final round with a 2-over 73 and went 15 holes for par or better with two birdies. Bjarki Petursson fired a final round score of 3-over 74 and scored a 36-hole total of 8-over 150 and tied for 33rd.
Johnny Travale finished in a tie for 57th at 13-over 155. Travale posted a final round score of 3-over 74. Rounding out the lineup was Brayden Baldridge who finished tied for 71st at 17-over after he fired a 4-over 75 score.
The Flashes will host the 2019 Men's MAC Championships next weekend in Aurora, Ohio. The action begins Friday at Club Walden. Kent State looks to defend the MAC title as the Flashes have won the last three years.
