Last season the two teams met twice with CMU sweeping Kent State. The Chippewas beat the Flashes in Mt. Pleasant during the regular season, 84-74, and dropped them in the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals, 98-91.
LAST TIME OUT
The Kent State men's basketball team improved to 12-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play after an 84-77 win over Toledo at home. All five starters scored in double figures with Phil Whittington leading the way with 16 points, 10 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season. Danny Pippen (16 pts), Antonio Williams (16 pts), Troy Simons (16 pts), and Anthony Roberts (11pts) rounded out the double-digit scoring. The Flashes took advantage of Toledo's center Luke Knapke's foul troubles and scored repeatedly inside during the second half. Kent State dominated the paint scoring 42 points to the Rocket's 16. The Flashes broke the tight game at the six-minute mark with the use of an 11-0 scoring run that put the Flashes ahead for good. Kent State shot lights out in the second half connecting on 20-of-32 (62.5 percent) from the floor and hitting 5-of-11 (45.5 percent) from 3-point range.
Kent State shot 52.4 percent (33-of-63) from the floor and connected on 9 three pointers (47.4 percent).

Kevin McKay scored the go-ahead basket with 0.2 seconds to play as Central Michigan came back from a 12-point second-half deficit. DiLeo scored 12 points, while Lane added 11 and led CMU with five assists.
